Outbox produced a trademark front-running performance to land the Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes under Hollie Doyle.
The 50/1 outsider has landed some lucrative prizes over the years with his front-running style and appeared fit for his seasonal reappearance, having ended last season with a third in the Group 3 Stockholm Cup at Bro Park in Sweden.
Hollie Doyle was allowed an easy lead through the twelve-furlong contest and capitalised on her fortune when kicking clear with two furlongs to run. The result never appeared in doubt, with both Naqeeb and Time Lock attempting to make late progress but failing to make inroads into the eventual winner.
"Each of our syndicates has 12 shares and this horse has been a real star for us as he also won out in Doha (in the local Group One H H The Amir Trophy in 2022)," said Davina Vigors, owners' liaison for Hambleton Racing.
"We weren't really expecting this today but the rain has probably helped us a bit and horses have been winning from the front today.
"Our biggest win came in the Group One Champions Sprint at Ascot with Glen Shiel (in 2020) but today is a great day too."
