George Scott has revealed that his stable star Isle Of Jura has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after a training setback.
The son of New Approach burst onto the scene when completing the Bahrain Triple Crown and proved he was more than capable of performing at the same level back on home soil when providing both Callum Shepherd and George Scott with their first Royal Ascot success in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes last month.
A statement provided by George Scott said: "Unfortunately, lsle of Jura has met with a setback and will miss the remainder of 2024.
Naturally, this is disappointing news for his owners Victorious Racing and everyone at Eve Lodge.
However, we unite in the feeling of gratitude towards him. ln little over a year, he's shown himself to be a winning machine including the Bahrain Triple Crown and of course the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot.
There's every reason to believe he will make a full recovery and with low mileage, his best days may yet be ahead of him."
Isle Of Jura was set to dip his toe into Group 1 company for the first time in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot later this month, for which he was an 8/1 chance with bookmakers Paddy Power. The same firm make Auguste Rodin their 7/4 market leader, with the defection of Isle Of Jura seeing Charlie Appleby's Group 1 Standard Chartered & Chater Cup winner Rebel's Romance trimmed to 7/1 (from 8s).
