The legendary Japanese rider Yutaka Take has been snapped up to ride the Joseph O'Brien-trained Al Riffa in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe later this season, according to reports in the Japanese media. An impressive winner of the Group 1Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten on his first try over the trip on Sunday, Al Riffa was cut to a general 12/1 for the European showpiece in October.

Jane Chapple-Hyam's star sprinter Mill Stream looks set for a break before being targeted at Ascot's Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes, prior to a potential trip for the valuable Longines Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin on December 8.

Saeed bin Suroor's Royal Hunt Cup hero Wild Tiger is gearing up for an autumn campaign which will culminate with a crack at the Bahrain International Trophy. The Newmarket-based handler also saddled an impressive debut winner at Kempton this evening in the shape of Elwateen. The Shadwell-owned daughter of Dubawi holds an entry in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket in October.

Henry Candy has endured something of a torrid season, but his spirits were lifted when the aptly named High Spirited defied odds of 50/1 to take the Listed Upavon Fillies Stakes at Salisbury. Henry Candy's filly made all to score by a length and a quarter under an enterprising Trevor Wheelan ride.

Aidan O'Brien's luck may have been out on a rare visit to Salisbury, but Andrew Balding looks to have a nice prospect on his hands after New Century fended off a persistent challenge from Lutcher to take out the Listed Stonehenge Stakes. New Century is owned by Qatar Racing, who owned Elm Park to win this prize en-route to top-level success.
