Wednesday's racing round-up includes the news of a potential Breeders' Cup Classic bid for French star Facteur Cheval…

Jerome Reynier revealed Facteur Cheval could make the switch to dirt for a potential clash with City Of Troy in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Del Mar in November. A winner of the Group 1 Dubai Turf at Meydan earlier in the year, Jerome Reynier's charge finished third behind Notable Speech and Maljoom in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood when last seen in July.

The Gary and Josh Moore-trained Novus showed plenty of guts to fend off George Boughey's 2-1 favourite Botanical in the Listed Foundation Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday. An 11/2 chance, Novus overcame a tardy beginning to plough through testing conditions under jockey Rhys Clutterbuck. The success could set up a potential trip to Newmarket to defend her crown in the Pride Stakes.

Dual Stayers' Hurdle hero Flooring Porter galloped his rivals into the ground when a dominant all-the-way winner of the Guinness Kerry National at Listowel. Gavin Cromwell's dual-purpose performer was well beaten on his reappearance at Killarney in July but bounced back to his best to coast home in the hands of Keith Donoghue. The Willie Mullins-trained Horantzau D'airy emerged from the pack to give chase, but he was never able to get on terms with the 6-1 shot Flooring Porter, who effortlessly crossed the line with four and a quarter lengths to spare.

Connections of champion stayer Kyprios looks likely to head to France for the Prix du Cadran. Following his latest top-level success in the Irish St Leger at the Curragh, Aidan O'Brien did not rule out the possibility of Kyprios dropping back in trip for a tilt at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. However, it appears Kyprios will stick to the staying division as he attempts to regain his Prix du Cadran crown after running out a commanding 20-length two years ago.
