Tally-Ho Stud have announced that Group 1 winning sprinter Big Evs will join their stallion roster for 2026, following his run in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar.
Trained by Mick Appleby, Big Evs rose to prominence during his two-year-old season following a easy three-length success in the five-furlong Listed Windsor Castle Stakes before ending the campaign with Grade 1 glory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Santa Anita. The colt returned as a three-year-old with outstanding efforts at the top level, including a close third in the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot and a hard fought victory over Australian mare Asfoora in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
In a statement on their website, Roger O'Callaghan of Tally-Ho Stud said: "We are delighted to be standing a horse with such pure speed and consistent class. He looked very special the day he won the Windsor Castle Stakes and his performances since have confirmed his place as an elite sprinter of recent years. Few horses have the pace to be able to challenge American sprinters on their home soil, and what he did in the Breeders' Cup last year underlined his brilliance. We are very much looking forward to standing the first son of Blue Point and to supporting him strongly at stud."
A stud fee for Big Evs is yet to be announced.
