Pedigree indicates he will appreciate the extra yardage on offer, so conditions appear ripe for this son of Coulsty to open his account.

Sean Levey's booking is a further positive, boasting a solid 16.67% strike rate over the last two weeks.

With 4/1 available, it could pay to take an interest in Coul Angel.

Last time out course and distance winner Chapel Green is selected to make it two-from-two in the 1m7f Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Handicap Chase (14:57) at Musselburgh on Sunday.

When seen at this venue in November, the eight-year-old registered a career-best speed figure of 87 (ATR), implying that there might be some improvement to come. While up 6lb in the handicap for that effort, he won with relative ease and jumped impressively. Given how lightly raced the gelding is, it would be unsurprising to see him continue his progress.

Lucinda Russell's yard have been in strong form recently, returning a win-rate of 18.6% in the last two weeks. At Musselburgh's New Years Day meeting, she saddled two winners on the six-race card.

Alan Doyle's 5lb claim can only be seen as a further positive. The talented conditional was onboard for last year's success and gave him a capable steer that day.
