Former star three-year-old Manawanui gave all indications that he is back on track following a solid trial win at Rosehill this morning.
Given plenty of time by Ron Leemon to overcome his recurring issues, Manawanui finished a half head in front of star colt Epaulette with the Chris Waller trained Rangirangdoo finishing third in the 1030m trial.
Having made his return from a lengthy break in the Hall Mark Stakes last start, the son of Oratorio looks to have taken good improvement out of that performance and is currently rated a $21 chance to talk out the feature event in Brisbane.
Progressive Darley galloper Sessions also proved impressive when recording one of the quickest times of the morning.
Having often proven quite the handful in his races last time in, the recent gelding operation appears to have done its job as he showed good improvement in his racing manners when settling towards the tail of the field before peeling out in the straight to work home strongly down the outside.
Improving mare Arinosa remains on track for a possible tilt at the Doomben 10,000 following her trial win this morning over the Darley trained Bello and Classics.
