Queensland Derby winner Brambles has been retired following a recurrence of tendon problems.
The Peter Moody-trained stayer has been a concern for owners OTI Racing since his winter campaign in 2012 when he went amiss after winning the Derby at Eagle Farm.
OTI confirmed today that Brambles had suffered a second tendon injury and this time there will be no comeback.
Moody was able to bring Brambles back from his 2012 injury last year with his best efforts being a win at Flemington, third in the G1 Turnbull Stakes and fourth in the G1 Caulfield Cup.
Brambles retired with six wins from 20 starts and $825,258 prizemoney.
