It is shaping as a case of third time lucky for Magnus Cor this campaign as she lines up at Doomben on Wednesday.
The Steven O’Dea-trained filly has finished second in her two runs back from a spell, each at the Sunshine Coast, the latest over 1200m.
Both have been encouraging displays where Magnus Cor has settled prominently and stuck to her task well.
She now rises in class and drops in distance for Wednesday’s Oaks Day 4th June Class 3 Plate (1100m).
It shapes as a suitable race for the daughter of Show A Heart who is well drawn and also drops in the weights on prior outings.
Jockey Paul Hammersley will likely settle the filly in behind an anticipated solid tempo and the pair should be right in the thick of things late.
Amber Jewel steps up in grade after winning her first two career starts by a combined margin of 5.5 lengths.
This is tougher again for the filly but such has been the ease of her latest successes, the daughter of Hidden Dragon seemingly has plenty up her sleeve.
Written At Dawn is an interesting runner making her stable debut for Stuart Kendrick.
The mare showed promise through her five start maiden campaign which included a maiden success over 1200m at Cranbourne.
Such form looks to measure up well in this line up, she is favourably drawn and the booking of Damian Browne is a further plus.
Nearly a year between runs is something of a concern however the daughter of Written Tycoon is still expected to have her fair share of followers.
Also returning off a generous spell is Kissed By Destiny.
Now a rising seven-year-old, the mare has always shown plenty of ability.
She is a dual course winner from just three starts at the course.
On best form, Kissed By Destiny is right in the thick of things here.
She is favourably drawn and the 1.5kg claim of Bridget Grylls is used to good effect.
Like, Written At Dawn, Kissed By Destiny must have fitness queries first up off a generous break.
Keep the mare safe though considering what she can produced at her best though.
From an inside barrier, third up after two solid starts to commence her campaign, it is Magnus Cor who shapes as the way to go in Wednesday’s Oaks Day 4th June Class 3 Plate (1100m).
