Four-time TAB Highway-winning trainer Matthew Dunn looms as the man to beat with a pair of in-form stablemates in Saturday’s next edition at Rosehill.
Delightful Feeling, topweight with 59kg and an impressive recent Rosehill TAB Highway and Doomben winner, will be accompanied by three-time race winner Say You Love Me (55kg).
A third Dunn nomination, Duchess Molly[, will compete in Brisbane on Saturday.“Delightful Feeling worked really well at Murwillumbah on Tuesday morning; we’ll claim on him with Nick Heywood,” Dunn confirmed. “He’s come on really well since his last win.
“We’ll also accept with Say You Love Me. Her recent Highway run was good but Duchess Molly won’t be coming.”Delightful Feeling, who powered home to win at Rosehill with 59kg three weeks ago, is extremely well in for a repeat with Heywood’s 3kg claim.
The step up to 1500m should be ideal based on the way the gelding closed to win at 1300m.Say You Love Me, who was recently placed at Eagle Farm and considered unlucky in the recent Rosehill Highway won by Dart’s Away with 57kg, drops 2kg.
Dunn, with four Highway wins, is closing fast on Canberra’s Matthew Dale’s five Highway successes.“Generally the level needed from up here for Highway races is good Class 2 or 3 Brisbane form,” Dunn said. “I’m concentrating on getting more horses to the Country Championships.”
Dunn's impressive recent Canterbury Highway winner Sunny Fame is spelling and will be set for the Country Championships at Randwick next autumn.
