Fell Swoop has done the work to be ready to be there, although there will be improvement to come,” Dale says.

“His coat’s not quite through, but his preparation has gone to script and he worked well on the Canberra course proper on Tuesday.”

Dale will line up Surprise Party in Saturday’s Highway Handicap at Randwick with Brodie Loy to ride.

“I’d prefer a bit of give in the ground for her but it’s been hard to tracks to suit.

“I think she’s well-placed off the Wagga win and it’s her last opportunity to take out a Highway.

“It’s her trip and Brodie has a good association with her.”

Dale has former Queensland mare Beatniks engaged in Friday’s 2017 Tibby Stakes Group 3 at Newcastle after a luckless run at Wyong in the 2017 Mona Lisa.

“It’s a deep race, but she’s better for the three runs back and is suited in this company,” Dale says.
