Lindsay Park-trained/Coolmore-raced filly Formality staged a strong effort in winning here, her fourth Group success in nine starts to date. She settled nicely outside the leader (Crown Witness), put pressure on that runner nearing the home turn, got to the front at the 100m and then fought back gamely for a very smart win. Jukebox raced in third place, one off the rails (tracking the eventual winner), moved up at the home turn, challenged strongly at the 100m but just found the winner a bit too good in taking second in a most respectable effort. Lone Eagle settled in second last place in the nine-horse field, improved between runners at the home turn, went to fifth at the 100m and kept running on well for a very good third.
