It is no coincidence that Rock My Wand 's career highlight - a Group Two placing behind Robert Sangster Stakes winner Instant Celebrity - was produced on a rain-affected track.

The filly relishes wet ground and she will strike those conditions at Rosehill when she resumes in the Listed Denise's Joy Stakes (1100m) on Saturday.

A daughter of Wandjina, Rock My Wand boasts some handy spring formlines, finishing runner-up to Emanate at Canterbury and third behind Instant Celebrity and VRC Oaks winner Personal in the Tranquil Star Stakes at Caulfield.

She hasn't raced since her midfield performance behind Odeum on a firm track in the Thousand Guineas and while she traditionally improves from her first-up run, trainer Matthew Smith says she has returned in great order.

"We gave her a good spell after Melbourne and she has come back in good shape," Smith said.

"She's a filly who loves wet tracks so if she gets a wet track, you'll see a different horse than what you get on top of the ground.

"She takes a run to get fit, but she looks great."

Keagan Latham has the ride on Rock My Wand, who has drawn well in barrier seven.

Smith has winter carnival aspirations for the filly and nominated the Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on May 29 and the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1300m) at the same venue as potential targets.

"If she ran well there, we could even look at the Group One, the Tatt's Tiara," Smith said.

The Tattersall's Tiara (1400m) , also at Eagle Farm, is on June 26.
