Kemalpasa will be out to enhance his already impressive form down the Flemington straight in Saturday’s $300,000 Group 2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m).

The underrated South Australia only needs a top four finish to take his career earning past the $1m barrier when he tries to atone for a narrow defeat behind Zoutori in last year's feature.

A dual Gilgai winner under the same conditions, Kemalpasa heads to Melbourne in arguably better form than last year according to co-trainer Richard Jolly.

"Generally, he's drawn wide when he goes over there and you can go where you want to go from a wide gate,'' Richard Jolly.

"He's in good order and it's a similar race to last year, to me he's going better this time around.

At Morphettville the Jolly's will saddle up the two favourites in the opening two races.

Originally it would have been Karacasu and All Banter, but the stable has opted to scratch Karacasu leaving stablemate Somewatt Fabulous favourite.

"We've made the decision not to run Karacasu,'' Jolly said.

"If he won again, he'd probably get another two kilograms in the final in a couple of weeks, so we thought we're better off holding him back and waiting.

"Also, if he wins the final (in a couple of week) that would almost guarantee him a start in the Magic Millions 3yo race on the Gold Coast early next year, so we've got that in the back of our mind.

"All Banter is very well, they should be chasing her backside for a while in that race,'' he said.
