Murray Bridge trainers Gary and Dean Alexander are hoping lightly raced filly Angelic Appeal can put her name forward as a carnival contender on the Parks at Morphettville on Saturday

Angelic Appeal comes off a nice effort when she went 10 weeks between runs before finishing third behind She's Greysful at Gawler and Dean Alexander said the filly had plenty of room for improvement.

"I think she's a progressive filly,'' Alexander said.

"She's taken a while to come to hand, she's a bulky filly. She needed that last run, it was a nice comeback from her and I think she's come on well from that

"If she has luck in running she should be thereabouts,'' he said.

Angelic Appeal stays at the 1200m trip this weekend and Alexander said the filly would be even better as she gets out in distance into her campaign.

"She'll want it even further, out to 1400m and maybe even the mile,'' Alexander said.

"We'll step her up depending how she goes on Saturday, but she's a nice filly worth keeping an eye on.

"Going back when she ran third (in October), that was behind Exalted Dame and Billie Bronx which is pretty good form. She shows ability and I think she's maturing nicely,'' he said.

Likewise Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea have a pair of three-year-olds among acceptors who will be given their chance to measure up in better races.

Solesun, by The Autumn Sun from former talented local mare Cavaloce, was a $400,000 yearling purchase from the 2022 Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale and has the benefit of two trials under his belt while Pappiana was a $100,000 purchase from the same sale.

"I like both the three-year-olds we have first-up on Saturday,'' Clarken said.

"I'm not sure just yet if both will run.

"The colt (Solesun) is most probably crying out for a mile and the filly is drawn awkwardly.

"We're looking towards the carnival, both are nice horses going forward,'' he said.
