The yearling sale spotlight shines on Victoria from this Sunday with the three-day Inglis Premier Sale to be held at Oaklands Junction.

Eight-hundred lots have been catalogued at the sale that is famous for producing superstars including Black Cavia, Nature Strip, Think About It, Starspangledbanner, Weekend Hussler and Sacred Kingdom.

Below is a look at some of the lots to be offered this year who are either expected to be standout performers or share bloodlines with past success stories.

Lot 62 – KING’S LEGACY x WHATALOVELYDAY colt

South Australia's famed nursery Mill Park Stud has brought a draft of 11 to Premier, three by high-profile first-season sire King's Legacy, including this bay colt from a Domesday mare who is the dam of G3 winner and unlucky G1 Oakleigh Plate fourth placegetter Benedetta (Hellbent).

LOT 174 – BRAZEN BEAU x CHLOE IN PARIS colt

Blue Gum Farm last year offered a filly by Brazen Beau out of the Exceed And Excel mare Chloe In Paris who sold for $270,000 and this year will have high hopes for the colt who boasts the same bloodlines. The now-2YO filly races as Bold Bastille and demolished her rivals in the Inglis Banner on Cox Plate Day, spent time at the head of Blue Diamond betting and runs in Saturday's $175,000 Listed Furphy Trophy (1000m) at Flemington.

LOT 257 – DIRTY WORK x GOLDEN CHILD colt

Benedetta wasn't the only hard-luck story in last week's Oakleigh Plate, Asfoora also had a tale to tell, which was a bitter pill to swallow for her owner/breeder Noor Elaine Farm, which will offer a half-brother by Dirty Work. By Flying Artie, Asfoora biggest win to date has come in the G2 Caulfield Sprint, while she is twice placed at G1 level including a second placing in last year's Moir Stakes (1000m).

LOT 273 – CAPITALIST x HANGIN' TOUGH colt

Tuvalu is one of the Premier Sale's recent success stories, having been bought by Lindsey Smith for $200,000 at the 2019 sale, and Merricks Station will offer a half-brother to the G1 Toorak Handicap winner, who is out of a three-quarter-sister to Helmet, late on Day 1. Tuvalu is one of seven G1 winners with siblings to be offered at Premier with close relations to I'm Thunderstruck, Gytrash, Streets Of Avalon, Costa Viva, Johnny Get Angry and Happy Archer also available.

LOT 314 – SNITZEL x JESTAJINGLE filly

The only other time Jestajingle had a product of Snitzel offered at Premier, it topped the sale with the Lonhro mare's first foal selling for $725,000 at the 2020 offering. That colt raced as Bruckner, winning a G3 McNeil Stakes and finishing second to Home Affairs in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes. This year's product, a filly, is part of the Blue Gum draft and is one of seven Snitzels who will be offered across the three days.

LOT 421 – CAPITALIST x NETTOYER filly

Another member of the Blue Gum team is the filly who is the first foal from Randwick mile specialist Nettoyer, a daughter of Sebring who won a Doncaster Mile and Queen Of The Turf. This filly is one of only two products of G1 winners being offered, the other – Lot 299 – also by Capitalist, a filly from the New Zealand Railway Stakes winner In Style.

LOT 452 – EXTREME CHOICE x PERFECT PERSUASION colt

Newgate's sought-after stallion has only two youngsters in the book and The Chase has his only colt, a chestnut youngster out of the Encosta de Lago mare Perfect Persuasion, who is a sister to former champion filly Alinghi. Perfect Persuasion has had six to race, all of them winners, including Stakes placegetters Lady Sharapova and Perfect Proposal.

LOT 514 – JUSTIFY x SHAHZADE colt

No stallion's stocks are on the rise at a greater rate than Justify's and the Coolmore phenomenon has nine yearlings to be offered, including the first foal from Sebring mare Shahzade, a half-sister to Debutant Stakes winner Kiki Express who traces back to mighty sprinting filly Isca, who will be offered by Northmore.
