Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea have four nominations in search of a third successive $120,000 Listed Balaklava Cup (1600m) on Wednesday.

Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea won the 2022 feature with Noname Lane before Ironclad led throughout to claim last year's edition for Brad Rawiller and the stable has Favourite Child, Komachi, Sachem and impressive last-start Group 3 Behemoth Stakes winner Second To Nun nominated.

Second To Nun will be ridden by Kayla Crowther if she lines up in the provincial feature with connections expected to also nominate for the Group 2 Let's Elope Stakes over 1400m at Flemington.

New South Wales jockey Andrew Adkins has been booked to ride Alpine Flyer, one of five nominations for Murray Bridge horseman Michael Hickmott.

Hickmott has last-start Morphettville winner Maracourt, Dubai Poet, Lord Vladivostok and Riverplate among nominations, the latter among acceptors on the Parks at Morphettville on Saturday.

Craig Newitt is expected to return to SA to ride in the feature for the stable.

Andrew Gluyas has entered exciting four-year-old Air Assault and Arugamama.

Two leading Victorian stables have nominations, Ciaron Maher nominating Duke De Sessa while the Anthony and Sam Freedman stable have Arqana among entries, a horse who has won his past two at Sandown and Flemington.
