2024 LADIES DAY VASE - RACE HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Ladies Day Vase is a Group 3 race run under Set Weights and Penalty conditions for four year old and up mares at Caulfield conducted by the Melbourne Racing Club.

The Ladies Day Vase is run over 1600m. It was first run in 1994 and was won by Cyclone Watch.

The Ladies Day Vase was not black type until it became a Listed race in 2006 and then a Group 3 in 2013.

It was on the midweek Caulfield card but moved to Caulfield Guineas day in 2023.

The Ladies Day Vase was worth $200,000 in 2024.

Notable winners of the Ladies Day Vase include Sirileo Miss (2021/2022), Spanish Reef (2019), I Am A Star (2018), Miss Rose De Lago (2015), Star Of Giselle (2012), Lady Lynette (2009), Matras (2005) and Market Price (2000).

The 2023 Ladies Day Vase was won by Wishlor Lass from Barbie's Fox and Foxy Frida.
