Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Bathurst, Scone, Sale and Gatton.

BATHURST: RACE 2 @ 1:05 PM

CHARGE AWAY (9) brings the best figures here after finishing in the minor money at her last three outings. On the quick back-up after being collared late when second over 1100m at Wellington on May 30. Well drawn again and no excuses in this contest. GIGATON (3) disappointed in two runs back for new stable and expecting more today. Failed to run on when eighth over 1200m at Tamworth on May 21. Best figures can see her improve sharply here. LUSKIN VAIN (6) six weeks between runs when a disappointing seventh over 1100m at Wellington on May 30. Placed this track and trip and the stable has tinkered with the gear. Has place claims. LANWAR (5) even debut when ran on late to secure fifth over 900m at Wellington on May 30. Claim helps and will appreciate the extra distance.
SELECTIONS: Charge Away to win.

SCONE: RACE 6 @ 2:35 PM

MISS CARTEL (4) returned from an eight-month break with a solid second over this distance at Hawkesbury last start. On-pacer who draws perfectly and drops in class. Should be opening her account. HOMELAND (6) was in the market on debut last time out over 1000m at Scone but couldn't quicken as required and finished midfield. Expect a bit more today with the step up in distance. ROCKBARTON ANGEL (10) last appeared when fourth at massive odds on debut over 900m at Newcastle ten weeks ago. Might surprise again. WEE KAHUNA (16) blew the start at Coffs Harbour last time so forget the run. Each-way chance on his best form.
SELECTIONS: Miss Cartel should be too good for these.

SALE: RACE 7 @ 3:45 PM

NEW SOVEREIGN (3) looks the one to beat. He's had three starts to date and been in the placings at all of them, winning on debut. Beaten by another smart type last time at this track over 1400m, he looks ideally suited up in trip now given his breeding. Hard to catch. LITTLE JACK (2) has come back well, winning first up at this track before working home well at Pakenham over 1600m. Fitter again and has upside. Hard to beat. FUNNYIFITWON (1) is a nice type who is racing well and drops a notch for this. VEGAS ON FIRE (9) hasn't been far away of late and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Keen on New Sovereign.

GATTON: RACE 8 @ 4:33 PM

PARUES (18) closed off strongly when finishing fourth fresh up on this track nearly 3 weeks ago. His only win has come second up in the past and slides back in class for this assignment. He has a good draw and in an even lineup, he should go close to taking this out. FREAKSHAKE (7) won at Warwick 3 starts back when clearing his maiden status and has not been too bad since then. He is likely to push forward early on with the step up to 1100 metres and should be thereabouts. SMILING ZAC (4) built strongly to a well-deserved win here last time out. This is no harder and he only has to cope with a 4.5-kilo weight rise to be hard to beat again. HERMANITA (9) won here narrowly fresh up and won't mind the step up to 1100 metres. She strips fitter and can double the dose.
SELECTIONS: Parues to win.
