Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Flemington, Ipswich, Morphettville, Darwin and Belmont Park.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 2 @ 12:25 PM

LIONEL (8) is an interesting one. He ran well at his Australian debut at Mornington over 2000m, which saw him start $6 in the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes. He was too bad to be true there, finishing a long last, but could be worth another chance here in a much easier race. MIRZANN (11) hasn't quite delivered in three Australian runs to date but should eat up the extra ground here and can repay the faith. FERAGO (6) was good in the Sandown Cup behind Amade last start which reads well. Can figure. ABERFELDIE BOY (4) was fresh at 2000m here last start and ran well. Much fitter for that this trip suits. MOUNT POPA (2) brings sound form from Sydney and could get into the finish.
SELECTIONS: Lionel to bounce back.

IPSWICH: RACE 4 @ 1:28 PM

ROCKRIBBED (9) resumes here but has a handy first-up record with two wins and two placings from just five attempts. Revved up for this with a recent Deagon trial victory and a bold showing while fresh is expected. MAJESTIC BOOM (12) hasn't put a hoof wrong winning all four outings to date including saluting here last time out. Thompson has been in the stirrups for three of those wins and it's hard to ignore winning form. Looks a serious threat. DAYTONA (14) is one from one over this track and trip and rarely puts in a poor one. One for the exotics players. NAVAS TWO (4) strips fitter second-up from the spell and shapes as one of the leading hopes.
SELECTIONS: Rockribbed to return a winner.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 6 @ 2:57 PM

JAYKAYANN (4) is yet to strike through this campaign in his three Vic runs but has been finding the line nicely. Should be hitting is peak now. Expect her to head back from the outside alley and be climbing over their backs over the concluding stages. THE GENIUS (7) was no match for an impressive winner last time out at Flemington but did run on soundly into fourth. Was an eye-catcher the start prior when charging home hard from a long way back to just miss the placings. Fitter again and gets a key jockey booking in Holder. Ready to play a major role. HOOPS (6) also comes across the border and carries some solid form. First time at this journey but suspect he will see it out and is a winning hope. DIXIE WHISTLER (5) course and distance winner who last start finished second over 2250m at Morphettville Parks. Worth including.
SELECTIONS: Jaykayann the one to beat.

DARWIN: RACE 3 @ 3:27 PM

PHAROAH MAGIC (2) changed stables earlier in the year and bolted home on his local debut here by 6 lengths without being asked for much. He will be even better after his short spell and another win is likely fresh up at this level. CONCLAVE PRINCE (1) made some steady progress in his last campaign after winning fresh at Bendigo and he should have no problem measuring up in this area after a spell. He is unbeaten when resuming and is the main threat to the top pick. DUMMY SPIT (3) is part of the travelling Victorian stable of Andrew Perdon who is campaigning for a team in the Northern Territory at the moment. He was third at Alice Springs last time out and meets a couple of progressive types for his track debut here. He is expected to give another good account of himself in this. Each way. SCUDETTO (7) had his first local start here a fortnight ago where he ran second after some handy runs in South Australia before that, including a Port Lincoln win in March. Include in all multiples.
SELECTIONS: Pharoah Magic to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 5 @ 3:49 PM

FALCON TRADER (3) was too good at Northam in the WA Day Cup, winning by 0.7L on the quick turnaround. He maps for a good run here again and will carry the same weight with a rise in grade. Good win at his first try over the mile and he can go on with the job now. SAVAGE ONE (4) is ticking along nicely despite not winning, bumping into the progressive Rope Them In last start over 1400m. Ready for this trip now fourth-up and CJP hopping on board is a positive sign. Can find the front and take plenty of catching. SENTIMENTAL HERO (2) has never missed the placings second-up and should appreciate stepping straight out to the mile after finding his rivals too quick first-up. The booking of Chris Parnham suggests he's ready now and he's sure to go close with improvement expected. WESTRIVER MIRACLE (8) can build on the solid first-up run with Pike taking the ride. BIRDIEAGLE (5) has a nice second-up record and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Falcon Trader can go back-to-back.
