Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for June 25.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Taree and Ballarat.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 2 @ 1:25 PM

MEGA FIGHT (4) race experience should see him hard to stop today fifth-up. Holding his form well on the provincial circuit, including latest on the pace head second over 1400m at Newcastle on June 15. Backs-up quickly and gets control from the inside gate. Go close. BELLASCENT (7) another with four runs under her belt this time in who will appreciate the firmer track. Only battled in the heavy (9) conditions on the tight Wyong track when fifth over 1600m on June 6. GRACED (2) is a filly by Justify out of Tingu on debut for the Maher yard. Only had the two trials and stable has been very patient. Forward showing expected from the good gate. ANOTHER FORTUNE (6) trained on the track and yet to draw a decent gate this prep. Not that far away when eighth over 1300m here on June 18. Distance suits and expecting more today.

BRIGHT LEGEND (9) made it two minor placings from three runs this prep when she wound up late but ran out of ground over 1412m at this track last start. Perfectly placed out to the mile for the first time and will be cherry-ripe now. The testing material. IDOL SHOT (10) is a progressive filly who chalked up for third placing from just four appearances when beaten under a length over 1415m at Coffs Harbour last time out. Finding the line well and gives the impression this extra trip will see the best in her. GOLD SOMETHING (1) staged a form reversal last start when a closing third over 1735m at Grafton. Not the most reliable conveyance but an each-way chance based on that last effort. BELLABATOOTA (7) isn't setting the world on fire but can sneak into the top four in a thin race on a five-day back-up. TYPHOON RAY (4) is racing poorly but can improve with blinkers applied.

BALLARAT SYNTHETIC: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM

ARIZONA ACTIVIST (2) won fresh up at Sale as a prohibitive favourite in what was his first start as a gelding. His next couple of starts were also full of merit, including a third in a stronger grade at Sandown-Lakeside nearly 3 weeks ago. He is back in class and should be hard to hold out. NIGHT PEOPLE (5) led all of the way when scoring fresh up at Cranbourne to clear his maiden status and he was near that sort of form again when finishing runner-up at Geelong last start. He starts from the pole position which can be an advantage on the poly track and he should be right in the finish. LE MESSAGER (1) was in good form before his last start on the turf here just over 6 weeks ago when he finished sixth as favourite. The freshen-up would have done him no harm and he is capable of bouncing straight back into the placings here. Follow your money. ARTRESE (3) won against a similar field at Edenhope last start and only has to cope with an extra 2 kilos in weight to be hard to beat again.
