The Australian Turf Club has announced the appointment of a Project Manager to oversee the marketing and public relations management of the relaunch of Royal Randwick following the $150m redevelopment.
Bettina Brown, an experienced marketing and public relations executive, has been appointed Project Manager, Royal Randwick Relaunch effective May 14.
Brown will be responsible for managing the marketing, public relations and launch events surrounding the opening of the new Grandstand and Theatre of the Horse in 2013.
ATC Chief Operating Officer Ian Mackay said he was pleased to welcome Brown, a former Head of Marketing and Sponsorship at the Australian Jockey Club, back to racing after a stint at Sydney Roosters.
“Bettina brings a wealth of marketing knowledge back to racing and her involvement will ensure that the re-opening of Royal Randwick will be a spectacular occasion for Sydney,” Mackay said.
“The redevelopment of Royal Randwick is a major milestone in the future of Sydney racing and the ATC is determined to maximise the excitement around the project and ensure all of Sydney can celebrate the facilities at relaunch time and beyond.
"I am delighted Bettina is coming back into racing with the ATC and the team look forward to working with her on this fantastic project.”
Brown said she was thrilled to be heading back to the Australian Turf Club.
"Royal Randwick is an iconic Sydney brand and the rejuvenation of the site will ensure it is a world class event and racing destination,” Brown said.
"It already has 152 years of rich history and this development will ensure that Royal Randwick is part of the make-up of Sydney for many more years to come.”
