Best From The West - September 22

3 minute read

The Hector McLaren trained Patrocity is in career best form and appears well placed to notch up the hat-trick in the final event at Belmont on Saturday.

A game performance behind Crystal Spirit in his return, Patrocity went on to break his maiden status in fine style two back, before again far too good at Belmont over the mile last start.

Kept fresh (21 days), Patrocity should have no concerns with the drop back to 1300m and has drawn to be prominent again.

Although stepping up in grade, he appears well placed down in the weights and is clearly a galloper on an upward spiral.

Pike jumps off to stick with the Adam Durrant trained Bold Success (Peters Investments) and as a result we are getting an extra roll on Patrocity.

The return to a firm surface maybe some query, but confident it is being overplayed by the market.

His last start win suggests there is more to come and if that is the case he should prove very hard to beat.

The Barry Newnham trained King Blitz couldn't have been more impressive last start and appears poised to make it four straight in the seventh event.

Having caught the eye on debut at Pinjarra over 1000m (12/07), King Blitz has gone on to notch up three straight wins, most recently winning by 3L at Belmont over 1400m.

Admittedly against lesser company to what he faces on Saturday, however he gave the clock a good touch up and there is certainly more to come.

From the middle draw he should get into a good spot on-speed and has already shown he doesn't have any issues travelling wide throughout.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he already sits clear of his rivals and certainly looks to have more in the locker.

With even luck, expect King Blitz to continue his rapid rise through the grades.
