The Darren McAuliffe trained Unikat has been very impressive in three starts to this point and certainly deserves his chance in Saturday's Listed Fairetha Stakes.

While not adopting the usual path towards the feature, he brings some solid form to the table and appears well placed down in the weights.

The Belgravia Stakes is the obvious form-line and this year's renewal was both deep and strong against the clock.

Chix Pic finished second there and deserves his place at the head of the market, though he was clearly in the right spot given how the race was run.

On the other hand Unikat's performance to bring up the hat-trick was better than first meets the eye, given he went too hard in-front.

Second placegetter Blackwood River was entitled/should have run him down, however he drew away to score by 1.5L.

Had Unikat run his race more efficiently, sectional mark ups suggest he should have won that race by upwards of 3L.

That figure brings him right into contention and with $12 being bet about his chances, he is a cracking gamble, have him marked 4-1 on Saturday.

From the wide draw he is expected to take up the running and should give a bold sight under Tayla Stone.

The Vaughn Sigley trained Missile Launch has been building nicely this preparation and now appears set to peak in the fifth event on Saturday.

While yet to fill the placings in two runs back, he loomed up to win last start, only to peak on his run late.

No doubt this has always been his early target with a win securing him a place in the Group 1 Railway Stakes on Saturday.

From the inside draw he looks to receive all the favours and will no doubt appreciate the step up in trip.

Rates highly on best form and should prove hard to beat.
