Midweek racing from Geelong and Randwick Kensington and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.
Geelong Race 5 – Taung
Very nice return from this Matt Cumani trained three-year-old, who was first up as a gelding and hit the line strongly from last in running. He didn't really show much in three runs last time in but this was a very good effort on a day that not many made ground. More ground should be the key for the son of Turffontein and he's a sneaky one to follow that could come up a good price next time out.
Randwick Kensington Race 3 – Blue Vein
Soft win by this Yu Long colt who proved far too good over the 1400m in good time, 0.6 seconds faster than the benchmark 72 later on the card. On debut he made subsequent G1 Champagne Stakes placegetter Fearless work and the gap back to third here is a good sign. He's a big animal who should get a mile on his ear, and something at open/listed level wouldn't shock.
