Midweek racing from Caulfield Heath & Ascot and we've got a horse to follow from each meeting.

Caulfield Heath Race 1 - Dark Simba

The first three across the line here have all gone well but it's Dark Simba I think we can get a return out of next start who was just given too negative a steer from the wide gate and had little hope of picking up Reach The Peak who was close to the pace. Dark Simba has tactical speed having led two starts back so he didn't need to go all the way back to last here, running the best late splits of the race. This race has rated quite well and a better scenario next time should see Dark Simba getting the maiden out of the way.

Ascot Race 1 - Shmoov Moova

This three-year-old looks to have plenty of ability, tipped out after just missing on debut when green, resuming here with a dominant win over 1000m, backed heavily and rounding them up with ease to score by over three lengths. Already rated 89 on the RAS scale, he looks certain to be cracking the 100 mark sooner rather than later, and I doubt 1000m will be his optimal trip in the future. There should be a stakes race for him sometime over the Summer.
