Lankan Rupee resumed in style claiming the Rubiton Stakes with a minimum of fuss in quick time.

Lankan Rupee ($2.90 fav) was quickly away and went straight to the lead.

He then settled well in front before grabbing a break shortly after turning for home. He then drew well clear nearing the 100m and was eased down in the closing stages to win easily by three and three quarter lengths.

Iconic settled fifth on the rails from his inside barrier (1) but was pushed back to last in the eight-horse field nearing the home turn. He got a split between runners at the 150m and made ground for a sound second.

First Command raced outside the leader to the turn and held second until the latter stages but was just cut out of that position coming to the post to finish third.

Better Than Ready ($4.00) was third on the rails to the turn held on for a sound first-up (four and a quarter lengths) fourth after appearing to have every chance.
