Fast 'n' Rocking settled well behind a moderate tempo (first 800m 49.38) travelling nicely in fourth place, one off the rails. Dwayne Dunn eased him out to challenge nearing the 300m. He then fought gamely to score in a photo, putting up another good effort this preparation after being gelded at the end of last season.

The favourite Generalife tracked the winner, racing in sixth place and looked the winner when he put in his run nearing the 300m. But he was out-gamed in the closing stages to finish second.

Flamberge raced outside the leader, went to the front at the 200m and then fought back well for a close third while the Coolmore-raced mare Jazz Song put up a nice effort in running on from second last in the 12-horse field at the turn to finish fourth.
