Criterion settled well in third place. He improved nicely coming to the home turn, went to the front at the 300m, dashed clear shortly afterwards and went on to win impressively by two and a half lengths.

Red Cadeaux was sixth, between runners. He was under riding as the pace increased nearing the home turn and rallied late from the 200m, running on well for a good second.

Royal Descent was near last on the rails, got along the inner rounding the home turn, went to third at the 100m and battled on well to hold that position to the post.

Spillway was second last at the 700m, he got along the rails from the 300m and kept running on for (4.6 lengths) fourth.

Tosen Stardom raced three wide (without cover), moved up nearing the home turn and then battled on for (5.5 lengths) fifth.

Lucia Valentina was well back before making a wide run from the 800m and she kept running on quite well for (5.7 lengths) sixth.

Happy Trails was wide with cover but just battled over the latter stages for seventh.

Adelaide was always well back and failed to make any ground in the Soft7 conditions for (7.1 lengths) eighth while the favourite To The World was midfield but failed to run on in the rain affected conditions and finished (23 lengths) last.
