Lite'n In My Veins wins 2016 Northerly Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Ascot (WA) 4yo+, 1400m.
The Fred Kersley-trained four-year-old Lite'n In My Veins put up a good effort in winning here. He settled nicely back in seventh place, one off the rails, following a good pace. He improved (deep) nearing the home turn, sprinted strongly to hit the front at the 50m and then fought gamely for a narrow but very good win.
Ideal Image had a nice run in fourth place, one out and one back. She dashed to the front at the 200m and then fought very well for second, only being overtaken nearing the post.
The 2015 Kingston Town Classic (Gr 1, 1800m) winner Perfect Reflection raced in sixth place, one off the rails. Put in a good run from the home turn and then battled well for a sound first up third while Disposition was last in the 11-horse field to the home turn and caught the eye running on for (1.3 lengths) fourth.
