Debt Collector has secured a very narrow win in the Group 1 Raffles Cup (1600m) at Kranji on Sunday his second Raffles Cup success in three years.

Not seen since running second to Preditor in the Group 3 Jumbo Jet Trophy (1400m) in August, Debt Collector settled back in the field from the wide draw and from last on the turn was able to run on strongly in the straight to edge out Circuit Land in second with Jupiter Gold third.

Reeling off an amazing last 800m, Debt Collector was able to recapture some of his previous form to claim a third successive Raffles Cup for trainer Cliff Brown.

The six-year-old gelding returned a Timeform figure of 110, his highest since running third to Jupiter Gold in March of last year.

Debt Collector ran the same figure as 2017 winner Gilt Complex (1800m) but was three pounds below his win over Quechua in 2016.

Circuit Land in second, ridden by Hugh Bowman continued his strong recent form and also ran to 110 with Jupiter Gold in third running to 108.

Earlier in the day Be Bee resumed with a terrific win in the Kranji Stakes A over 1200m.

Having run well in the three-year-old series last campaign including win in the sprint and a second in the classic, Be Bee was able to settle off midfield before putting his rivals away with ease in the straight, running out a two and a half length winner over Rafaello.

Be Bee ran to a Timeform figure of 91, the same figure he ran to when winning the Three Year Old Sprint and five pounds below his effort in the Classic.

With five wins and four placings to his name from just the 11 starts, the Shane Baertschiger is certainly one of the most talented up and coming horses in Singapore and is worth keeping an eye on as he progresses this campaign.

Aramco was also able to return to the winners circle when also winning a Kranji Stakes A over 1200m, getting the better of Augustano by a length.

Dropping back from Group 3 company when fifth in the Jumbo Jet Trophy, Aramco ran to a Timeform figure of 101, his highest since coming to Singapore.

With six of his seven wins coming over the 1200m trip he is likely to remain over that distance going forward with all his runs in Singapore also on the turf.
