Australians Mike Hussey and Ben Hilfenhaus have made solid contributions in Chennai's thumping of Delhi in their IPL semi-final.
Australians Mike Hussey and Ben Hilfenhaus are poised to play in this season's Indian Premier League final after Chennai crushed Delhi by 86 runs in the second semi-final on Friday.
Opener Murali Vijay was the hero for the home side, blasting 113 from 58 balls to guide the two-time defending champions into the decider against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.
Hussey (20 off 22 balls) combined with Vijay for a 68-run opening partnership to set the platform for the Super Kings' total of 5-222 - the highest total of the IPL's fifth season - from their 20 overs after Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag won the toss and chose to bowl.
In reply, Delhi were all out for only 136 in 16.5 overs.
Mahela Jayawardene stroked a fluent 55 but the team could not put up a fight in the face of a daunting total at Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Dave Warner needed to fire to give his side any chance, but the Australian opener was caught by Vijay from the bowling of Hilfenhaus (1-17 off three overs) for just three.
