Timeform have awarded impressive 2012 Investec Derby winner, Camelot, a provisional rating of 130p.
The Derby has seen a number of top-class winners in recent seasons, and that rating is actually behind what Workforce (133) in 2010 and Authorized (132+) in 2007 achieved. Those two horses never bettered that figure in their careers, but Camelot can surely be expected to step up again given the impression he's created so far.
Timeform's Flat Editor David Johnson said: "Camelot's reputation has always gone before him, but he is very much living up to the hype, he's unbeaten in four runs now, three of them Group Ones, and two of them classics.
"In beating Main Sequence by five lengths we've awarded him a performance rating of 130+. He keeps the 'p' symbol and there is every indication that he'll go on and show even better form later in the season.
"Everything he has done so far leads us to the conclusion that he would be impossible to oppose should he attempt to complete the Triple Crown at Doncaster. He should have no problem with that trip given how well he settled today, and the rating he recorded at Epsom is good enough to have won every St Leger since 1990."
