The Furious Stakes is a Group 2 race run under Set Weights conditions for three year old fillies at Randwick conducted by the Australian Turf Club.

The Furious Stakes is run over 1200m. It has been occasionally run at Warwick Farm and Rosehill but Randwick is the traditional home.

It was first run in 1975 and was won by Notre Heart. It is run on the Tattersalls Club race day.

The Furious Stakes has mostly been at 1400m but was reduced to 1200m in 2013 when the carnival was adjusted.

The Furious Stakes was upgraded to Group 3 in 1995 and Group 2 in 2005.

Not just some of the great fillies but some of the greats have won this on their way to becoming that. Winx and Sunline are good examples.

It is a great guide to the Flight Stakes as part of the Princess Series. Angst and Samantha Miss were winners of the four feature fillies races (Silver Shadow/Furious/Tea Rose/Flight).

Some other Flight Stakes winners to win the Furious include Speak Fondly, Streama, Unworldly, Danglissa, Sunline, Dashing Eagle, Danarani, Research.

The 2007 race was not held due to the Equine Influenza break out.

The 2024 Furious Stakes was run for prizemoney of $300,000.

Notable winners of the Furious Stakes include Manaal (2024), Tiz Invincible (2023), North Star Lass (2022), Dame Giselle (2020), Libertini (2019), Foxplay (2016), Speak Fondly (2015), Winx (2014), Dear Demi (2012), Streama (2011), Melito (2009), Samantha Miss (2008), Mnemosyne (2005), Shamekha (2003), Victory Vein (2002), Unworldly (1989), Danglissa (1999), Sunline (1998), Dashing Eagle (1996), Danarani (1994), Angst (1993), Bold Promise (1991), Twiglet (1990), Tristanagh (1989) and Research (1988).
