SIR MICHAEL STOUTE

Sir Micahel Stoute began his training career in 1972, his first Classic victory coming six years later with Fair Salinia in the 1978 Oaks.
Stoute has continued to train top-class winners from his Newmarket stable ever since, winning his first trainers title in 1981, going on to win nine more, the most recent in 2009.
The leading trainer was knighted in 1998 for services to tourism in Barbados where he was born and in 2009, three horses trained by Stoute pulled off a rare feat when the trio claimed all three placings at the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Training the queen's horse Estimate to win the 2013 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, Stoute also trained Shergar arguably his most famous horse who won the 1981 Epsom Derby, later stolen presumably by the IRA.
