Another set of trials conducted on a heavy track, conditions that are forecast to continue well into Sydney's winter.

Hard to find a standout performance but there was some good talent on show in the two and three-year-old heats with several unexposed youngsters worth following into the spring.

DARK HALO (Ciaron Maher): Stable signalled their opinion of this 3YO gelding by Zoustar by putting him into a black type race last spring straight off a debut win in a provincial maiden. He's an imposing individual who impressed trucking through his 814m heat in fast time for the session (48.40; 34.40) for the easiest of wins in his second trial since December. The time he has been given to develop is set to pay dividends.

HUMMING (Joseph Pride): This former Victorian mare is a recent addition to this top strike rate stable. She impressed with her strong work to cover ground and finish off under a hold for second in her 817m heat (49.26; 35.06), showing nice improvement off her first trial for the stable. With sound Victorian and Adelaide form behind her she can be placed to advantage in restricted company against her own sex.

LUNA FIELD (Bjorn Baker): This recent Rosehill trial winner backed it up with another sharp win in the quickest of the short heats over 807m (48.40; 35.20), leading with ease and kept under a big hold while eager to run. The Deep Field gelding placed in two of his first three starts early this year and is set for a maiden kill off this form.
