Selections and best bets from Chris Scholtz for the Randwick meeting on December 28 plus Trial Watch and Blackbook runners.
RANDWICK December 28
Best Bets
RACE 5 (3) JEWELLERY: Genuine mare ready to peak after two strong efforts in good form races since resuming, having won previously when third up. No luck first-up over 1100m at Rosehill before her solid third when trapped wide without cover over this course and distance under 58kg. Well placed back to her own sex with the advantage of a 3kg claim that should enable her to exploit her race fitness.
RACE 7 (8) LIBERTY STATE: Lightly raced mare justified her short odds when she dominated a small field second up over 1400m on the Kensington track, leading easily under 57.5kg for her third win in only seven starts. Holds plenty of scope to keep improving as she maps to again take control and dictate the speed with a comfortable lead.
RACE 8 (16) RING ME UP: Progressive mare keeps rolling through the classes with a 50 percent strike rate of five wins from 10 starts including her last three on the bounce over distances from 1350m to 2200m. An easy trial since her latest win over 1800m at Rosehill a month ago has her primed to maintain her form with the leading stable having her well placed to cope with this higher class dropping to the limit weight of 52kg.

TRIAL POINTERS
ROSEHILL December 23: GALLO NERO produced impressive work to finish second in his 2YO heat over 900m. ART VOLANT took the eye having an easy time in her 900m heat.
WARWICK FARM December 19: Unraced Zoustar filly WRITEGO is set to go to the races after running away with her 785m heat in the fastest time of the short course heats (45.61; 33.10). Led by a good margin and had plenty in reserve cruising home by 4.5 lengths.
HAWKESBURY December 16: Strong 1000m heat win by the classy mare REVOLUTIONARY MISS (59.05) should have her primed for coming targets. In the 2YO trials over 800m I liked the late work of heat winner APOCALYPTIC (47.01; 33.11). There were some smart winners in the maiden trials. In the 1000m heats the unraced MANAAJEM (58.44; 33.50) showed good improvement off earlier trials to post a win that augers well for a good debut.
NEWCASTLE December 12: Wyong trainer Sara Ryan's team continues to perform well at provincial trials including another 950m open trial win by previously noted SO GOOD SO COOL (54.50; 34.12). The Kris Lees-trained POWER OF THE BRAVE went a tick quicker in the fastest 950m trial (53.51; 34.40).
ROSEHILL December 10: Lightly raced mare UNCONQUERABLE won her first start at Caulfield last December and is well primed for a strong Sydney debut after two recent trial wins. Strong work to win her 900m heat in the fastest time of this session (54.36; 33.38), doing it with plenty in reserve when challenged. Maidens to perform well included MOSAMOUR.
RANDWICK December 9: The open heats saw strong work from numerous runners having easy workouts. Among the eye catchers were KIN and COUNTYOURBLESSINGS.
NEWCASTLE December 4: The speedy 800m heat winner FORMAL (45.45; 33.40) will be well placed in a suitable maiden.
WYONG November 26: Talented local trainer Sara Ryan won an open 845m heat with the smart SO GOOD SO COOL (50.02; 33.43).
