Son of New Zealand-bred Group 1 winner King’s Rose wins Sekiya Kinen.
Satono Arthur (6 h Deep Impact - King's Rose by Redoute's Choice) - who is out of 2010 New Zealand 1,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) winner King's Rose (Redoute's Choice) - snapped a long losing thread with a victory in the Sekiya Kinen (Gr 3, 1600m) at Niigata on Sunday.
The six-year-old entire's last victory came in the 2018 Epsom Cup (Gr 2, 1800m), but he got back to winning ways when beating Trois Etoiles (Lord Kanaloa) by a length and a quarter with the same distance back to Andraste (Orfevre) in third.
Purchased by Satomi Hajime for ¥195,000,000 (AUD$2,550,867) 2015 JRA Select Yearling and Foal Sale, King's Rose has produced three foals, who have all won and she herself is a sister to Alister Clark Stakes (Gr 2, 2040m) winner and Group 1-placed Hardham.
The entire's third dam -Lakab (Manila) - is Grade 3 winner Hessonite (Freud) and Listed-winning duo Roanoke (Danehill) and European Rose (Nureyev).
Lakab is the grandam of dual Grade 1 winner Anabandana (Anabaa), Listed-winning duo Gybe (Fastnet Rock) and Coronado Rose (Coronado's Quest) and Group 3 winner Soneva (Cherokee Run), who in turn produced The Blue Eye (Dubawi).
In 2019 King's Rose produced another colt by Deep Impact.
Deep Impact's progeny is headed by 47 Group 1 winners, including Saxon Warrior and Tosen Stardom, who will stand at Coolmore Stud and Woodside Park Stud respectively this spring.
Deep Impact, who stood at the Shadai Stallion Station for his whole breeding career, died last year.
