Owner Barrie Griffiths confirmed that the 5YO mare by Charge Forward had been retired due to persistent feet issues.
Response, a $50,000 yearling at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale, won four races including the G1 Sportingbet Classic over 1200m at Morphettville and G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield.
She also won the G3 Matron Stakes at Flemington and was placed in the G2 Tristarc Stakes, G2 Gilgai Stakes, G2 Salinger Stakes, Gr2 Let's Elope Stakes, G2 Kewney Stakes and G3 Cockram Stakes from 20 starts.
Griffith indicated that Response will be offered for sale as a broodmare in April.
