Winning Time For Bon Hoffa

December has been a winning time for the successful NSW-based sire Bon Hoffa.

The brilliant Australian-bred son of the Danzig sire Belong to Me supplied at least 10 winners in the first three weeks of December.

They included Ample On Offa, who recorded his seventh win in Adelaide from 23 starts; Moonee Valley winner Sallanches and a Colac double on December 17 by Antagonist and Bon D’Aller.

Bon Hoffa narrowly missed a treble at Colac as his daughter Bedrock Dreams ran second in an 1100m event. She had previously won twice at Pakenham and was second twice at Morphettville as a 2YO.

Bon Hoffa’s best result this season was the win of the Ciaron Maher-trained Bon Aurum in the G1 Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield in October.

A brother to four-time winner Gold Hoffa, Bon Aurum has won five of his 15 starts with four of them in stakes races in Melbourne.

Both horses were bred by Victoria’s Ken King Thoroughbreds and race for his syndicates.

Among other Bon Hoffa progeny are Deiheros (five wins including the Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic and Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Classic) and the metropolitan winners Sweet Emily (seven wins), Bon Rocket (five wins), Top Sight and I’m Ablaze (five wins).

He is also sire of of the Sydney winners Allez Chival, Galaxy Warrior, Bonney Tess, Melbourne winners Good Offa and Best Hoffa and Hong Kong winner Ambitious Speedy.

Standing at Bowness Stud at Young, Bon Hoffa has one yearling booked into a major sale in early 2017 with a brother to the multiple winner That’s Ma Boy to be offered at the Classic Sale in Sydney.

However there are three of his progeny entered for the 45th annual Dubbo Yearling Sale on January 22 from mares by Strategic, Excites and Danzero.

Bowness Stud will also offering eight yearlings at the Dubbo sale by Walking Or Dancing, who has made a god start at stud with seven winners and six placegetters from his first 20 starters.

The Dubbo sale also features yearlings by Frankel’s three-0quarter brother Bullet Train, Al Maher, Arlington, Dane Shadow, Delago Deluxe, Dr Doute’s, Dream Ahead, Eurozone, Eyeful, Harbour Watch, Krupt, Lucky Owners, Monaco Consul, Money Or The Gun, Shrapnel, Snippetson, Strada, Supreme Class and Zoffany.
