Kidnapped SIre Found Alive And Well

3 minute read

Martino Alonso, the sire of Ramonti who was kidnapped from Siba Stud near Brescia in northern Italy seven months ago, has reportedly been found some 400 miles away near Naples.

A horse meeting his description has been placed in police custody having been found wandering loose on a road on land near Pomigliano D'Arco in Campania.

The formal identification process has yet to be completed.

Twice Group 1 placed before his retirement in 2000, Martino Alonso has been a success at stud, ending last season as Italy's leading sire of two-year-olds and fourth on the overall list.

He stood the 2009 season for €7000.
