Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
Maiden fillies in the opener. Two race for the first time and we'll take a chance on one of them with (1) BISANG DAY. She qualified with a solid 3rd place in a December trial in a fair time having led through the early stages. She draws nicely to lead here and couldn't ask for a softer race to debut in. The favourite will be (10) UNJU TIME. She ran a solid 4th of eleven on debut over this distance in a similar filly only maiden on December 14th, settling back and running on. She should have derived benefit from that and with some natural improvement, has every chance. (3) KARA K improved to 5th at start number two over 1000M in October. She comes in here fresh after thirteen weeks out and can be in the mix here. (9) HIGH CLASS and the other debut maker (8) POWER BAND are others to consider.

(7) HYEUKMUSANG got promoted to this class with back-to-back runner-up finishes in his first two outings, both at 1200M, before running 6th in a competitive race on his first try at this class on November 30th. The slight step up in trip can suit, Kozzi climbs on, and he can win here. (9) WANGCHOEGO is also yet to win but comes up in class following a very narrow defeat in a decent time over 1200M on December 7th. He finished off very well so should be ready for another crack at this distance and down in the weights, has every chance of going close. (1) CUPID HEART was a maiden winner at start four over 1200M on December 14th. It wasn't a quick race, but he won well and can measure up in this company. (8) JURING SKY and (4) WONDERFUL SEEKING others in the hunt.

(5) ECLIPSE THE KING got his maiden win at start number four on December 8th when he raced on pace for the first time and went on to score comfortably over 1300M. He comes up in class and slightly in trip, but neither should be an issue, and he can win again here. (2) GANGNARU ran 3rd in his first two starts before getting his maiden win at outing three on December 14th, racing handy throughout over 1300M. He already has a place at this distance to his name and up in class but well drawn, he can more than measure up. (10) APPLE STYLE will need a line drawn through his first effort at this class, but he is a winner at this distance as recently as November and CC climbing up is in his favour. (9) B.K. BELLE and (7) PINK GOLD others in the hunt.

(8) WANNABE WITH YOU came from off the pace to run 3rd on debut in a filly only maiden on December 8th. She should have come on for that experience, the additional trip can suit, and she is the one to beat. Her debut was perhaps marginally more impressive than that of (9) INDY GHOST. Nevertheless, the latter acquitted herself when similarly 3rd first up over 1300M on December 20th, also settling back and running on. She too should appreciate the slight step up in trip and she is the main danger. (6) CARIBBEAN BAY was 4th n debut and then beat a couple of today's rivals on his way to 6th of twelve over 1300M on December 13th and that's enough to make him clear third pick here. (2) FAST QUEEN and (1) GLORY WIND other minor money hopes.

(9) WESTERN GUN was a dominant winner on debut over 1400M in October before running 2nd on his first try at this class, again over the seven-furlongs, on his first try at this class on December 14th, racing handy. He steps up to two turns for the first time, but there is no reason why it can't suit, and he is very much the one to beat. (10) MK LEE enters following three consecutive 3rd place finishes at this class and distance. He has the challenge of the widest gate but he does have the fastest time among these for the 1700M and should be in the mix again. (11) K POWERFUL was 4th being Western Gun in that December 14th race and he also steps up to two turns for the first time. The widest gate isn't ideal, but if he can find a decent position early, he can be in the finish. (1) MAX WEEK and (2) GANDAGO, both last start winners, the former at this class and distance, are others to consider.

Fillies and mares only here. (1) DOCTOR HAPPY got her maiden win at 1000M on September and following a dreadful day at the office when slow away on her first try at this class over 1400M in October, returned to form with 2nd place over 1200M on October 13hth when on pace throughout. She comes up 2.5kg in the weights but that's balanced by a great draw, and she can win. (2) BROWN ROOKIE was 2nd on debut in September and after a break returned on December 13th to get her maiden win over 1200M, racing handy. She is up in class, but she carries a light weight, draws well, and can measure up. (10) B.K MAGIC is yet to win but comes up in class having run 2nd twice in her last three starts. She carries a light weight, Munro stays on and she may make for some appeal at an each way price. (9) MAGIC ELEVEN and (7) BACK TO THE LADY are others in the frame.

(5) SAENAE CLASSIC is the one to beat here. He debuted fairly in the Listed Munhwa Ilbo Trophy in September before getting his maiden win at start number two in October, leading all the way over 1200M. He then ran 3rd at this class and distance on November 11th racing handy. He should have too much here. (1) B.K LOVE ran out a seven-length winner over 1300M in a filly only maiden on December 15th. She is up in class here but down in the weights and the manner of that win suggests that she can be competitive. (3) GREEN FEELSTAR enters off a smart 3rd place at class and distance on December 7th and the veteran seven-year-old can be there or thereabouts again in this company. (9) CHEONGUNG STORM and (6) SERGEANT LIGHT are other placing chances.

(4) UNJU LEGEND is yet to finish in the top two in twelve attempts, but she comes in here having run 3rd at this class and distance in November, having finished 4th at it a month earlier. She carries a very light weight, she draws well, and she is worth taking a chance at what will probably be a generous price. The favourite will be (3) BORYEONGLIGHTQUEEN. A winner at class 6 level two starts back over 1400M, she was 5th of twelve on her first try at this level over a mile on December 12th having led early. She comes up to two turns for the first time but draws nicely and this should suit. (12) RALLY MAN is up in class and in distance having scored over a mile on December 13th. Franco stays on and he can be competitive. (7) MASTERY MAN and (6) EONJENA YEONGUNG other placing chances.

(9) UASEN won her first two races In May and June last summer before running 3rd at this class over 1400M in July. She hasn't raced since but returned to win a trial on Boxing Day and while first-up, she must be taken on trust, her previous form suggests she has every chance here. The main danger is (11) BARO DANAEUN. She has never finished outside the top two and has won her latest pair of outings, most recently at this class and distance on December 1st when, as is her style, she was on pace throughout. She is up in the weights and has the challenge of the widest gate, but she can make it thee in a row. (7) HANGANG GLORY isn't the most straightforward of types, but he was a fair 5th on his first try at this class last time out and Moon Se-young climbing on catches the eye. Up in class (2) GLORY AND HONOR, along with (10) GEOLJAK SIDAE among other placing chances.

(6) BEST CHAMP was a winner at this class and distance on December 8th when settling midfield and running on well. That win had been coming and while he is up 3kg in weight, he still doesn't carry too much, and he can repeat. (11) BIG MUSICAL STAR is up in trip following a win and a runner-up finish from his latest two, both over 1400M and most recently on his first try at this class. He is weighted fairly, and he has every chance of measuring up. Veteran (7) CHEONGMA HWANGHU enters with recent form reading well and this is the kind of company among which he can pick up some prize money (12) COOL RUNNING and (2) DOCTOR NEXT others in the frame.

(9) GOLD MUNGCHI was an emphatic winner over 1700M on December 7th, settling handy before peeling away from the pack in the closing stages. He comes up in class here and goes down to a mile for the first time, but the manner of that win suggests that he can repeat. He has been an all or nothing horse so far, and if this time is a nothing, then (6) CHEONMAPYEONGJEONG can be the one to take advantage. She is a consistent type with plenty of experience at this level and enters having run a close 2nd over 1400M on December 8th in a filly only race. Her previous try at this distance ended in 4th place and she is the danger. (3) RAON SPRINTER went cold for a couple of races in the autumn but picked up on his latest on December 15th when 4th over 1200M. He has good late speed and may appreciate the step up in trip. (5) LAST PITCH and (1) VISION POWER others in the hunt.

(2) DRAGON NINJA won his first two in fine fashion over 1200M and 1400M before finishing 2nd in the G2 Breeders' Cup Rookie, the nation's race to decide champion juvenile, on November 24th, when he came from well off the pace. He comes up to the mile for the first time and he carries his fair share of weight, but he draws well, and he can win. (3) GUKDAE STAR had a poor day at the office last time out over 1800M, but he comes back to a trip at which he is two for two over, with Tanaka riding him both times, and he can be a danger. Like Dragon Ninja, (11) HUIMANG RANI won her first two races, to get rapidly promoted to this level. She then ran a solid 4th place on her first try at this class and distance on December 8th, leading for much of the way. She has the challenge of a wide draw, but she can match or better that here. (5) GUKDAE HERO and (10) SANGSANGGEUISANG others in the frame.

(8) BAEKRYONG got his sole win to date three starts back over this distance and has since run 2nd and 3rd in two tries at this class at 1800M and most recently 1700M on December 8th, having led on both occasions. Harry rode him all three times and he stays on here and under a light weight, he can win. (7) COLGIN needs a line drawn through his latest when he had a go at class 3 but despite the weight draw found himself weakening badly late on. The weight goes back on but in more amenable company, he can be a danger as his 2nd place two starts back attests. (2) GENTLE YARA returns to action for the first time since September. He has won at this distance and looked well when winning a Boxing Day trial so can be in the hunt first up. (6) DALKONG and (3) SUPER THUNDER the other place chances.

Busan Race 6: Class 1 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million
Class 1 but with a rating cap of 105, and there are two standouts. (4) GANGSEO GIANT was 7th of fifteen behind Remake in last Septembers Korea Sprint at 1200M and rounded out 2024 by winning the Listed Kookje Shinmun Trophy over 1400M on November 10th. She has her fair share of weight, but so does her main rivals and well-drawn, Munro can pick his spot and produce her late. (9) BLACK MAMBA was 2nd in the Kookje Shinmun and made one more start on December 15th when he beat most of today's rivals (except for the absent Gangseo Giant) over 1200M in emphatic style. He has won at this trip too and while he comes up a full 3.5kg in weight, he is a big danger. (5) DAEAM JANGGUN was 2nd in that race on December 15th and is a four-time winner at this distance. With a weight swing, he can play a part. (1) DOCTOR CAESAR and (7) JEONGMUN COBIT other place chances.

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(6) BEST MAYA won three in a row between August and October to get rapidly promoted to this class. She has taken a couple of races to find her feet in this type of company, finishing in 4th place both times at 1400M and last time out on her first try at this trip on December 14th. She should have benefited from that experience, and she can return to winning ways here. That will mean overturning the form on (10) TAPDOWN, who beat Best Maya and a couple of the other returning rivals here on his way to 3rd place in that December 14th race. That was his fourth 3rd place at 1800M, and he can match or better it here. (4) GOLDEN HONOR was 5th in the same race having run 2nd and 3rd in his previous two, also at this class and distance, and he can be there or thereabouts again. (11) WHIZ RUNNER and (9) KWAEHYANG among other minor placing chances.

(6) SPALTA loves coming 2nd, something he has done eight times in thirteen starts and in each of his last five, most recently at this class over 1400M on December 15th when, as is his style, he was close to pace throughout and, as has been his style, ultimately one proved too quick. In addition to those 2nd places, he has won twice, including at this trip, and in this company, he really should be adding to those today. (4) RAON TAP PLAY has the best chance of beating him. A winner at this distance at class 4 two starts back, he ran 4th on his first try at this level over 1400M on December 15th. He doesn't benefit from an apprentice claim today but draws well and can be a danger. (11) DAEHEUNG CLASS is yet to win in twenty-four attempts but has finished between 2nd and 5th on no fewer than nineteen occasions. He is up in class but down significantly in the weights, and he can find the money again. The form drops off after those three, with (1) RAON THE COBRA and (7) GLOBAL CODIE perhaps the best of the rest.

Super finale. (6) VINCERO CAVALLO has established himself as one of the top sprinters in the nation heading into his four-year-old season and he rounded out 2024 with a very smart win at this class and distance on December 8th, leading almost all the way. He only comes up 1kg in the weights, and he can pick up from where he left off today. (11) SOMETHING LOST races for the first time since finishing well back behind Gangseo Giant (and VIcero Cavallo) in the Listed Kookje Shinmum over 1400M in November. Before that he was an excellent 5th in the Korea Sprint and coming in fresh, he can be a danger. (10) YEONGUNG BUHWAL is a winner of four from six so far and makes his class 1 debut here. He beat the excellent prospect Wonpyeong Storm in a trial just before Christmas (both doing it easy) and he can measure up. (4) EOSEOMAREULHAE and (5) SAENAE QUEEN among plenty of other chances.
