Just like last year with Dasher Go Go, the Japanese are the last to make their way to Kranji when Tokei Halo rounded out the international arrivals for this year’s Singapore Airlines International Cup meeting after he landed on Tuesday morning.

Checked thoroughly by Singapore Turf Club head of the Veterinary Department, Dr Koos van den Berg at Changi Airport, the five-year-old entire by Gold Halo was soon given the all-clear to head to his new temporary home at the International Stables for the next week or so

Dr Koos said Tokei Halo, a close second to Akeed Mofeed in the Group 1 Longines Hong Kong Gold Cup (2000m) last December, was a lot more mellow customer than previous Japanese horses.

“He was very quiet, not quite like the other Japanese horses who can be quite nervous when they arrive,” said Dr Koos of the Singapore Airlines International Cup runner.

“He got off the pallet and onto the float without any problem. He is a gentleman of a colt.

“Urine and blood was collected and his EI test was negative, just like for all the other horses on arrival.”
