UK: Requinto Back To His Own Age

3 minute read

Classy two-year-old Requinto will switch back to his own age group for the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster on Friday.

David Wachman's charge won the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood before stepping up to face the established older stars in the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York.

Requinto was never a factor there but the trainer is expecting a better run on Town Moor.

"The intention is for Requinto to head to Doncaster next week for the Flying Childers Stakes," Wachman confirmed.

"I am hoping that the ground was against him in the Nunthorpe Stakes. His mother was useless on soft going and he seems to be pretty much the same as her.

"I was very pleased with the way he travelled at York but, when we went for him, he just floundered on the ground.

“Hopefully, he can get his conditions at Doncaster and put that race behind him."
