Jeremy Noseda would like to see Grandeur return to winning ways in the RH Hall Foundation Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday before making any more plans.
A winner at Lingfield on All-Weather Finals day, he has since been campaigned in America, although he enjoyed little luck in three runs.
Grandeur was short of room when third in the historic Man O' War Stakes, after which he was given too much to do by Gary Stevens in the Manhattan Stakes before losing out in a photo-finish to the Grade Two Bowling Green Handicap.
This Listed race, in which he is clear on official ratings, is a drop in class, with Noseda hoping for a change of fortune.
"He's had a break since his trip to America but is in good form again," said the Shalfleet handler.
"He has a good record at Goodwood and this looks a nice spot for him so we'll keep our fingers crossed.
"It's fair to say he lacked a bit of luck in America, but this represents a drop in class.
"I hope we can get a win under his belt.
"We know what he can do and truth be told, if he runs up to his best form then he should win.
"I'd just like to get this out of the way before we make any more plans, though."
