Mick Appleby is looking forward to a tilt at Friday's Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes with stable star Danzeno.
Although the high-class sprinter has done most of his racing over six furlongs, he does have a win over the minimum distance to his credit.
The five-year-old is winless in 2016 thus far, but ran well to finish third in the Duke of York Stakes in May and has been narrowly denied in two of his three starts since, most recently going down by half a length at Chester.
"The draw beat us at Chester and had we had an inside draw he would have won," said Appleby.
"He has come out of that race well. He will go to the Nunthorpe now and he should run well in it."
Danzeno is a general 25-1 shot for Friday's Group One feature on the Knavesmire.
