Secret Number continued trainer Saeed bin Suroor and owner Godolphin's fine run in Turkey by storming to victory in the International Bosphorus Cup at Veliefendi.

After their double with Leshlaa and Arabian Hope on Saturday, Secret Number overcame a 295-day absence with a professional performance in this Group Two contest over a mile and a half.

Gerald Mosse brought the seven-year-old with a powerful surge in the centre of the course as he scored from the Andrew Balding-trained mare Elbereth, who finished third in this race last year.

Victory Is Ours was third, with Hugo Palmer's Crimean Tatar fourth.

Bin Suroor said: "Secret Number has won well - he had pleased me before this race.

"The pace was slow and this was his first start for a long time, which is why he pulled hard. The jockey did well again.

"There is no plan at the moment for Secret Number, but we will look for another Group race for him."

Mosse told www.godolphin.com: "It was a nice and easy victory. We always had the race under control."

The Godolphin team were just denied a double for the second day running when Dream Castle was edged out by German challenger Wonnemond in the Topkapi Trophy.
