Ingra Tor looks just the right type of improving young sprinter to win the valuable Pavers Foundation Catherine Memorial Sprint Handicap at York.
Trained by Mick Channon, he was making his handicap debut last time out at Newmarket when he made a field of decent sprinters look very ordinary indeed.
Life will be much tougher now as he races off a 9lb higher mark, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he will be racing outside of handicap company before too long.
A son of Churchill, his dam, Kassia, was a Listed winner over this six-furlong trip.
Ingra Tor was not as precocious as his dam, only having one run last year, but he has made up for lost time, winning at Southwell in March before finishing second at Kempton under a penalty. He remains a youngster of undoubted potential.
Charlie Appleby's Kemari is a tentative selection in the Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Grand Cup Stakes.
There is not much between many of the runners on the figures but it would be no surprise to see Kemari return to his best.
A Royal Ascot winner in the Queen's Vase last summer, he would surely have been aimed at the St Leger were it not for the fact he had already been gelded before making his debut.
He disappointed badly in the Great Voltigeur after that before returning to something like his best in France when beaten by stablemate Manobo.
While he cut no ice in the Prix Royal-Oak, he did have Quickthorn behind him and he is having his first run of the season since finishing mid-division on his only outing in Dubai.
The JCB Handicap looks competitive but it is hard to see why Tim Easterby's Boardman will not go close.
Having won three of his last four races, the handicapper has had his say and Boardman is now 9lb higher than for the first of those wins. However, the most recent effort was the most impressive of them all, suggesting he has more in the locker.
A course winner last season, admittedly off a lowly mark of 80, should he win this off 99 he is well worth a go in Listed company.
Karl Burke's Cold Case pushed a smart filly in Carmela very close on debut and should go one better in the Reg Griffin Appreciation EBFstallions.com Maiden Stakes.
Despite giving plenty of weight away Clive Cox's Caturra looks a class apart in the Scurry Stakes at Sandown.
Winner of the Flying Childers last season, which is why he carries a Group Two penalty in this Listed event, he was only beaten a length and a half in the Middle Park behind Perfect Power.
Six furlongs seems to stretch him, which looked the case last time out in the Sandy Lane Stakes when three lengths behind El Caballo.
Back down to the minimum trip for this, against a small field, he should be able to outclass his rivals.
Daniel and Claire Kubler's Outgate was a winner at Chester's May meeting and returns for the Extra Places Every Day At Betway Handicap having run a fine race to be third in the Silver Bowl at Haydock.
Andrew Balding's Spirit Mixer is by Frankel out of Juddmonte International winner Arabian Queen, so it is slightly surprising he is excelling over staying trips but he steps up to two miles for the Edinburgh Gin Boyzlife Handicap in search of a four-timer.
The best bet at Leicester might be Mr Fayez who blew his chance with a slow start at Doncaster last week. He should go well in the Evening Racing @leicesterraces Thursday 23rd June Handicap.
James Tate's Royal Aclaim has not been seen since beating Perfect Power on his debut. He returns in the British EBF Novice Stakes at Bath and could yet develop into a smart individual.
