Saturday's program looks like being run in sunshine! Neither the horses nor the patrons will know themselves. The Greenlands Stakes G3 kicks off the major races.
It's over 1200m for the 3y+ and has attracted 12 entries with Fire Lily on top at 5/2. She's back down in trip after failing in the mile and before that was 2nd to Homecoming Queen at Leopardstown in the trial.
Crusade for the O'Briens AP and JP is making the first outing for 2012 and is on 11/4, and Tiddliwinks, a recent York winner, is value on 15/2.
The 2000 Guineas has a field of 11 with no O'Brien horse in single figures. The market is headed by Parish Hall on 7/2, followed by French invader Hermival, and the 5/1 for Takar (Oxx-Murtagh). On 10/1 you have two interesting runners - Born to Sea who will wear a hood this time, and Daddy Long Legs who won in Dubai but did not handle the going at Churchill Downs. An upset would not surprise especially as the going will probably be good.
The Equestrian StakesG3 for 4y+ is over 1600m with a field of 9. Emulous won his last 3 in 2011, and Alanzar as well is making his 2012 debut. They are on 110/10 and 2/1. Try Law of the Range at 8/1 trained by Marco Botti and Joseph O'Brien is going to ride.
On Sunday the Tatts Gold Cup G1 for 4+ over 2000m has only 5 runners, headed by last year's winner So You Think at 1/4. So You Think ran 4th in the Dubai World Cup on the tapeta surface. He looked very well there and on another surface may have had a lower digit before his name. Bible Belt at 5/1 and Famous Name 7/1 are probable chasers.
The 1000 Guineas over 1600m has trial winner Homecoming Queen on 4/5 with Yellow Rosebud on 4/1, making Yellow Rosebud the value as there isn't that much between them. La Collina is 5/1.
