The Diana Trial was the feature on the track.

Off the track it was the fashions – this was Ladies' Day after all and the weather reasonable.  On the track there was a thrilling finish to the feature with the first four home finishing in a tight bunch.  Erie emerged the winner by a short head to Lady Mary with Egina a neck away in third and New York City another neck back in fourth.

If all first four finishers go on to the Oaks the draw and the weights may be important.
